Fine Arts Network was founded in 1994 by Jean Sackin, Beverly Stephenson and Ginger Costilow as a cultural enrichment program for youths. In the early days we provided classes in the visual and performing arts at a day facility. When the Del Rio location was sold, we began doing outreach programs at the local schools. Some of our Artists-in-Residence, still go to the schools and share their talents.
For many years F.A.N. chaired and organized
Children's Arts-in-the-Park in conjunction with the Arts Council of Temecula's, Arts Festival. F.A.N. has always been committed to networking with other organizations by providing mentoring, talent support, dissemination of information, collaboration and cost sharing. As part of our cultural enrichment program, we wanted to provide performance opportunities. A.C.T. (Applause Children's Theatre) was formed as the production arm of F.A.N.
Our colloboration with TPAC and its program geared to youths caused us to rethink our goals and we renamed Applause Children's Theatre to Actor's Contemporary Theatre (still A.C.T.). A.C.T. offers performance opportunities for 13 years and up. Our Summer Camp program is geared to youths 6-15 years...and our performances our for theatre lovers of all ages.
